Animation Cel Inspiration – Occasional
This is a series of rough thoughts based on the concept of animation cels. In traditional animation, photos are taken of a scene comprised of a background illustration and the moving characters and objects painted on a clear sheet and placed on top.
Figure 4+5: Transparent glass/acrylic doors allow the patterns on both the front and rear sets of doors to interact with each other when opened.

Figure 6: A round glass tabletop is slotted into a metal cradle with a blue tinted bottom. The design on the glass is a play on the reflections and foam in a moving body of water. Shadows are cast below which alludes to both the inadvertent shadows that happen when photographing cels and the real life ones found under the waves. ➺
